Water Margin: It’s Wu Sanlang!

"B-Big Brother." Wu Bin's throat tightened.

Wu Dalang hurried around the stove, his short frame nearly tripping over the threshold. He grabbed Wu Bin by the arm and looked up at his younger brother's face, studying it again and again. His lips moved several times before he managed to speak. "B-Bin'er? Is it really you? Why has your face gotten so thin? Can't you stomach the food in Bianliang? Did you catch cold on the road? I'll make you a bowl of ginger soup..."

He turned to hurry back to the stove, but Wu Bin caught hold of him. Wu Bin dropped to his knees in the courtyard. The muddy ground was icy cold, and his knees sank into the wet earth. Looking up at Wu Dalang's flour-covered hands and reddened, tearful eyes, he spoke one word at a time. "Big Brother, your little brother has passed the imperial exams as the third-ranked candidate. The court has appointed me magistrate of Qinghe County."

The courtyard fell silent for a moment.
