Before the World Updates, I Can See the Announcements

The world didn't suddenly go out of control. It was just updating to a new version. And Lu Heng was the only one who could see the update notices in advance.

At one in the morning, an interface suddenly appeared on his phone. It couldn't be uninstalled or screenshotted, and only he could see it.

[Reality v2026.222 Update Notice]

Lu Heng glanced at the number. It was the office building he was standing in.

At first, he thought it was just a prank. Then the notice took effect.

From then on, Lu Heng finally understood: all the accidents, disappearances, and anomalies everyone else saw were nothing more than version updates in REALITY.

Some things would be deleted. Some would be added. Some rules would change completely after a certain point in time.

Everyone else could only wait for an update to arrive, then figure out how to survive. Lu Heng could always see the notice ahead of time.

But gradually, he began to realize something even more terrifying:

If reality really had a version number...

then who, exactly, was updating this world?
