With a Mortal Body, I Forge a New World Without Gods

His name is Rain, a greedy, crass fat man whose greatest dream is to open a shady shop, make enough gold, and lie around until he dies.

Then he inherited a god-slaying power he was never meant to have, and found a little skeleton that chews on gold coins when it gets hungry.

One wrong step leads to another. To survive, he deceived elves, schemed against divine envoys, and betrayed his allies. He watched the girls around him fall one by one. One entrusted him with the unborn child in her womb and her future, then detonated her Star Sword Heart, dying with her enemy. Another broke free of the soul chains he had placed on her and chose death to give him a chance to live.

The sins he carries weigh more heavily than the bells of the Holy Church. He has only one way to make amends: drag every lofty god down into hell.

“You want to slay the gods?” a girl asks him.

“No,” he says. “I want to make the gods unnecessary.”

This is the story of a mortal climbing toward the divine throne, only to smash it with his own hands. The cost? Everything.
