Bound to a Medical System, Somehow in an Ordinary World

[Multiple Heroines] [Transmigration] [Medical System] [Farming] [Period Novel]

Summer 1974. The graduation ceremony at Huangyuan Health School has just ended. Yang Shu confesses to the class beauty and gets rejected. Then his rival in love publicly calls him "a farmboy from Shigejie." They get into a fight, and Yang Shu passes out. When he wakes, someone else has taken his place.

A medical student from 2026 has transmigrated into his body and bound himself to a Medical System. Treat a patient, earn points. Exchange points for medicine, skills, or money. No graduate entrance exams, no residency training, and a job assignment straight out of vocational school. Not bad.

He has no connections or influential family, so he's sent back to Yuanxi County, one of the poorest counties in the heart of the Loess Plateau. Yuanxi County People's Hospital is a "county hospital" in name only: it has barely more than a dozen people, and its offices are in a converted old cave dwelling. There are no X-rays, no blood tests, and medicines are scarce. Most patients are treated with a stethoscope and traditional Chinese acupuncture.

All he wants is to settle down and work as a doctor. But somehow, one beautiful young woman after another from this poor county keeps turning up in his life: fellow doctor Yao Zhi, nurse Qin Yao, Tian Runye, a teacher at Chengguan Primary School, Meng Yumei, a saleswoman at the supply and marketing cooperative, Lin Lushui, a young widow from the village, and Hao Hongmei, the landlord's granddaughter who is still in high school.

Yang Shu just wants to be a good doctor...
