Obsession Reborn in 1982: The Changbai Mountain Hunting King Provides for His Whole Family

Zhang Jianjun, from Hamatun at the foot of Changbai Mountain, regretted one day more than any other: August 16, 1982, when he drank too much, played cards, got into a fight, and was sent to prison for three months.

In the few short weeks he was locked away, disaster struck his family.

His father and eldest brother went into the mountains to cut firewood and ran into a herd of frenzied wild boars. Badly injured and stranded deep in the mountains, they had no one to help them and bled to death. His mother, unable to bear the shock, lost her mind and fell from a cliff. His sister-in-law, three months pregnant and utterly alone, and his ten-year-old little sister both met their ends in the desolate Black Pine Forest.

By the time Zhang Jianjun was released, all that remained of his once-large family was silence.

For decades afterward, Zhang Jianjun lived alone as a forest ranger and never married.

In his later years, Zhang Jianjun developed liver cancer. He stayed in his old house, and when he finally closed his eyes, his heart was consumed by the need to atone.

Heaven took pity on him and sent him back to noon on the very day the tragedy began.

Driven to desperation, Zhang Jianjun took his brother from his previous life, Fulin, who pretended to be a fool, and saved the lives of his father and eldest brother.

In his previous life, Zhang Jianjun had spent his whole life as a forest ranger, so he knew the ins and outs of Changbai Mountain. He hunted and gathered herbs in the mountains and fished in the rivers, improving his family’s life. But he gradually discovered that his father and brother’s injuries in his previous life, and even his little sister’s death, were not as simple as they seemed!

His good friend Fulin also had a huge secret! All of it lay hidden behind layers of mystery.

Reborn, Zhang Jianjun must make his whole family prosperous and secure, while also uncovering every unresolved grudge from his previous life!
