[Harem novel, multiple heroines, witty and hilarious, with a roller-coaster plot] Chen Shao is the laid-back owner of a family paper-offering shop. His ideal life is to lie flat and count his money. Then one day, a popular livestreamer makes a scene outside his shop while broadcasting. Chen Shao looks up and says, “You’re going to die soon.”
The streamer flies into a rage, cursing all the way up the mountain, then slips and dies for real.
The viewers in the livestream fall silent: Is that mouth blessed, or poisoned?
The sweet-faced policewoman Lin Xiaomu comes to investigate. Chen Shao lets another remark slip: “Don’t take a shower tonight.”
Lin Xiaomu isn’t sure whether to believe him, but that night, the water heater at her home leaks electricity, and she narrowly escapes disaster. The next day, she pulls out her gun and “invites” him back to the police station. “Master, do me a favor. Can you talk to a corpse?”
Chen Shao says, “I just sell ritual offerings! Please believe in science!”
Science? Lin Xiaomu looks at the corpse sitting up in the morgue after he summoned its spirit with paper antennas, then at the paper cranes he folded from yellow paper, flying all around the room in search of ghosts to talk to...
“You call this science?”
From then on, Chen Shao spends his days being hauled around by a police beauty to catch ghosts, while a cold and glamorous CEO offers him a million-yuan monthly salary for protection.
As he frantically racks up good karma to enter prize draws, he sighs, “I only wanted to sell a little ghost money. How did I end up as customer support for the supernatural world?”
It's beautiful, not tacky, and very interesting. Please give it a thumbs up, the author, for more updates.
It's a very nice and interesting novel. It's rare to find a good one.
