One rainy night, the youngest and most frosty double professor at Saint Briar Academy saw her compass produce its closest alignment in ten years.
She followed the warm golden light and spotted a man's blade at the mouth of an alley. The golden glow was like a furnace flame, brighter and purer than she remembered.
After helping him deal with a magical beast, Irowen spent three days getting the man hired at her laboratory.

“Mr. Lu, please keep your hands to yourself.”
“Lu Jingyu, we're only research partners.”
“So what? Everyone has to eat, don't they?”
Later still, wearing the necklace her mother had left her and curled up in the arms of a certain shameless scoundrel, Irowen pouted and asked, “You big meanie, when did you start liking me?”
“Probably when I saw someone looking like a little kitten and couldn't help patting her on the head.”
“Bad hubby, I'm hungry!”
Lu Jingyu scooped the beauty in his arms up. “Sure thing! I'll get right on dinner!”
“You rascal! Why are you going to the bedroom to cook?!”

It's a pretty original novel. I'm a newbie after all, but the writing is also pretty good. I really recommend reading it. It's not a loss anyway. If you do, just run away and you'll be done.
The first three chapters are a little bit literary, and the scene connection is not natural enough.
