The Myriad Scrolls Ruins is an alternate dimension built from countless worlds of books. Each story forms a world of its own, with a void that devours everything stretching between them. Book spirits travel through these realms, relying on literary cores to keep the worlds running. But distortions are spreading everywhere, and disorder and dislocation have become the norm.
After collapsing from overwork, Zhuang Buying is summoned to this world as a follower. The book spirit Yan Ruyu takes him to repair distorted worlds, but they are ambushed by an Alterer, and their mission ends in failure. Yan Ruyu loses her memories and regresses, while the remnant of the Crimson Pearl literary core remains inside Zhuang Buying. Reduced to a story wraith, Zhuang Buying transmigrates through altered story worlds, defeats the demonic spirits of the Alterers, and gathers the power of literary cores. Amid absurdity and dislocation, he searches for a way home!
