Dear readers, as I write this, I honestly feel rather sad.
I’m Wen Tao. This book is going on a temporary hiatus. To be precise, I won’t be writing for the entire coming year.
The reason is simple: I have to take the college entrance exam. To be honest, lately I’ve been trying to study while worrying about the plot, and I can’t focus properly on either. I toss and turn at night, feeling like I’m letting down those of you who are still following the story. Even though I know I don’t have many fans and only a few people might click in each day, the fact that someone is reading makes me all the more afraid of letting you down.
Another reason is that when I go back and read the chapters I’ve written, I’m increasingly embarrassed. There are too many places where I fail to express myself clearly, the characters don’t come across convincingly, and the pacing is all over the place. I don’t want to limp along and finish the story like this. That would be unfair to you, and to the passion I still feel in my heart. So I’ve made up my mind: I’ll put down my pen for a year and focus on studying, observing, and practicing the fundamentals, so I can make my writing stronger.
After my exams next summer, I’ll come back as a better writer and tell you this story again. If you’re still willing to open it then, that will be the greatest good fortune I could ask for.
I’m truly sorry to keep you waiting, and so grateful that you ever clicked on my book. See you in a year.
Wen Tao, written late one night when I was reluctant to say goodbye.
Come on author 🙂
At present, it is still possible. Come on, author.
