Crime Scar Mountain seals calamities that have plagued the world for ages, while the towering walls of the Ling residence divide two worlds of joy and sorrow.
Two souls from another world are born as lowly slaves of mixed blood. Without orthodox spiritual roots, they rely on sinister powers just to survive.
One possesses double pupils that devour sin; the other's Dao seed feeds on the seven emotions. To survive, they seize the spiritual root of Ling Feng, a young scion of the main family, caught between using him and genuinely caring for him.
A manhunt closes in at every turn, while whispers of corruption follow them like shadows. Only then do they realize that the power within them is made up of fragments scattered from the very source of the calamity.
They flee to the forbidden sinkhole, where they confront the terrifying origin beneath a thousand-year-old seal.
In the body of a youth, they stake everything on one desperate gamble to escape their fate.
