In 1983, the old industrial base of Northeast China was on the eve of the reform of state-owned enterprises. National Security Bureau agent Gao Yuan was attacked by a mysterious alien civilization "Observer" during a mission, and was bound to the "Secret Archives" system before his death. When he woke up again, he found that he had traveled back to 1980 and lived in the body of a playboy with the same name. "Gao Yuan" in this world is a famous waste of Hongguang Machinery Factory. He makes trouble all day long and is looked down upon by everyone.
But Gao Yuan soon discovered that the world was far more complicated than he imagined. Behind seemingly ordinary workers, cadres, and even street vendors, there are hidden secrets. What's even more strange is that one by one, little people who should have been unknown in history suddenly died in mysterious circumstances, and the manner of their death was exactly the same as the killing method of the "observer" in Gao Yuan's memory.
The "Observers" are jealous of human creativity and emotion, and are trying to cause humankind to destroy itself by killing each other by creating chaos. Gao Yuan must use the ability given by the "Secret Archives" system to read the remaining memory fragments of objects, find the lurking aliens in this seemingly ordinary town, and stop their conspiracy.
But the bigger secret lies behind: Why did the "Secret Archives" choose him? Why did those aliens choose this era? And who does that memory that keeps repeating belong to?
