Little Fish, Little Fish, Where Are You Going?

OOC warning: This story contains lots of headcanon. Zhang Xiaoyu fanfiction. 1v1.

After accidentally entering an ancient Zhang family tomb, Zhang Lin opens her eyes and falls straight into Changsha in the twentieth year of the Republic of China.

In a war-torn era, with the Nine Gates rife with undercurrents, she catches the eye of the mysterious adjutant Zhang Xiaoyu.

A mask hides the man’s features. He wields life and death, and danger radiates from him, yet he insists on keeping her by his side.

“I just want to find my way home.”

The man lowers his eyes, his obsession hidden beneath his mask. “Now that you’re here, don’t think about leaving.”

On one side is the chance to go home; on the other is an obsessive man in a turbulent age who refuses to let go.

Later, she returns home by chance, but can’t shake the feeling that something is missing.

She steps into the Republic of China era again, only to find that the time and place are all wrong. When she sees someone familiar again, four years have passed.

The road ahead is fraught with danger, as the secrets of the ancient tomb and the Nine Gates’ intricate game unfold.

Fortunately, one person has been by her side from beginning to end.

May I find one true-hearted soul, and stay by his side until our hair turns white.
