Prince of Tennis: When a Frail Girl Gets Bound to a Tennis System

Seventeen-year-old Tsukishima Kanon has been given a death sentence by the hospital. Dilated cardiomyopathy, heart failure, and three signed critical condition notices. As she teeters on the brink of death, something called the “Girls’ Tennis Revival System” binds itself to her.

“Complete three missions to be reborn: lead the girls’ tennis teams of Seigaku, Hyotei, and Rikkai to national championships.”

She thinks it’s a deal. Three schools, three years each, three missions to complete, and then she can leave. She thinks everyone is a tool, that affection ratings are just numbers to exchange for stats, and that every relationship can be thrown away once she’s done with it. Coldly, she calculates how to use everyone who gets close to her, treating them as stepping stones to victory.

Until, in her second life, she is reborn at Hyotei Academy. A red-haired boy runs over from behind the fence, smiles at her, and says, “Huh, have we met somewhere before?”

She stands there, realizing for the first time that the feelings she used had remembered her.

She thinks she’s just passing through, alone as she crosses three parallel timelines, leaving no trace in anyone’s memories. Until the feelings she used and discarded begin to shine again in the next world.

Every relationship she treated as a tool has left an echo somewhere she can’t see. Those affection ratings aren’t expendable. The notes, the bandages, the evenings spent practicing together, the silence of someone keeping watch at her bedside after she collapsed: all of it survived the ending she thought would wipe everything clean. When she stepped into the next world, it became an involuntary smile on someone else’s face.

But her body is failing.
