There were three things Lacethea Lestrange hated most: the full moon, loud, boisterous brats, and idiots who ranked people by blood status.
Unfortunately, she was one of those people ranked by blood status.
Before she turned eleven, she had no idea what kind of scrutiny her surname would bring her in the future. She only thought it was rather long and awkward to say. If the nun at the convent hadn’t told her that it was one of the few things her mother had left her before dying in childbirth, she probably would have gone to Hogwarts under a Muggle surname of her own choosing.
Merlin’s beard, it turned out that Lestrange was much better than a Muggle surname. She certainly didn’t want to be shoved underwater in the washroom just a week after being sorted. Though, in reality, things weren’t much better.
Everyone guessed that Lacethea Lestrange was probably the illegitimate daughter of some Lestrange and a Muggle. After all, she had nowhere to go during the holidays and had to return to that pitiful convent.
In truth, Lacethea really was pure-blood. It was just that her mother was a werewolf. And a werewolf who had bitten her own child, at that.
That was one of Lacethea’s secrets. But whether she was an illegitimate daughter, a werewolf, or born in a Muggle convent, there was no doubt that Lacethea Lestrange was clever and truly beautiful.
Lacethea: Pressure doesn’t faze me at all.
