[Native characters + mutually devoted leads + slow-burn romance + sweet and doting + farming, no golden finger]
A bachelor who hunts in the mountains, and a little mute who has words but cannot speak: somehow, the two of them end up joining forces and making a life together.
The villagers are all waiting for a laugh. How long can a poor hunter with no land or house last with a mute wife who can’t do a thing?
The mother and daughter from the He family, who live off others, keep showing up every few days to take what they can... But thankfully, He Yueniu has finally found her lucky star.
And yet their life turns out quite differently from what everyone expected.
Yan Zeyi goes up the mountain to hunt, while He Yueniu stays home and keeps things in order.
Though she can’t speak, her clever hands find all sorts of ways to cook wild greens. She dries and saves the mushrooms she gathers on the mountain, shells the pine nuts they collect in autumn and stores them in jars. Even the animal hides hunters toss aside, she tans until they’re soft, then sews them into kneepads and gloves to sell in town.
Little by little, stitch by stitch, firewood by firewood, grain by grain, they build their life together.
The gossip gradually turns to envy, and the envy slowly becomes whispered talk: that mute daughter from the He family might just have married the right man.
The plot of this novel is probably pretty good, but I think this novel is that kind of thing. You are living a good life and everyone is kind to you. This is a good example. In the first chapter, when the heroine fell into the water and her stepmother was blackmailing people for money, there were so many people around. I didn't believe that the captain and the villagers didn't know anything. No one came out to say a word for the heroine. Later, life was a little better. A group of people came out and said that they had accepted the kindness of the heroine's mother (Wan Niang) and said that they had helped the heroine secretly. And that Dr. Zhou, when he was sallow and skinny, he didn't say anything, but he was doing better. He said that your life was better than before, so why should he say it? Isn't this just what he can see? Also, it was obviously the heroine who helped Dr. Zhou. Why was it that the heroine was holding the meat and then giving it to Doctor Zhou? And the heroine's hands are really loose later on. I don't understand it at all. When she was bullied, she only received kindness from one or two families, but later on she actually believed it so naively. There is also the little Shitou from Uncle Zhao's house. I don't understand how a child can go to other people's houses every day and have lunch there. The novel does not clearly indicate whether he brings his own food or just eats and drinks there for free.
Come on come on
It's very nice, but a little selfish. Can the author make the heroine speak in the later stage? 🙂
