Dragon Lord of the Shaosheng Era: Rebuilding a Mighty Song Across Twenty Thousand Li

After transmigrating into the first year of the Shaosheng era, he became Zhao Xu, the Song emperor who had been kept under the Empress Dowager’s thumb for eight whole years.

The history books told him: In seven years, he would die at the age of twenty-four. In thirty-three years, the Jin army would invade south, Bianjing would fall, the two emperors would be taken north, and the realm would be lost.

But now, the Old Party held the court in its grip, the five armies were unprepared, and the cavalry of Western Xia swaggered along the border.

He sneered. This time, I will not be a short-lived emperor.

Banish the Old Party, summon Zhang Dun, rename the era Shaosheng, and revive the New Policies. First, settle the old score of the Yuanyou-era cession of territory, then avenge the humiliation of Jingkang with a new army armed with firearms.

Against Western Xia, he would set his sights on Xingqing Prefecture. Against the Liao, he would eye the Sixteen Prefectures of Yanyun. Against the Jurchen, before they could rise in the White Mountains and Black Waters, he would first raise a Great Wall of flesh and blood.

He would finish the road his great-grandfather and grandfather had left unfinished, and repay all the indignities suffered by the Zhao Song dynasty over three hundred years in one stroke.

Rebuild a mighty Song, and reclaim twenty thousand li of territory, beginning this day.
