Three years ago, she suddenly disappeared with their two children, and there has been no word of them since.
Once the dust settled, the people of his past faded into the bustle of the city, and he became a rickshaw driver, plying the streets and alleys.
Then a gunshot shattered the peace of the streets. After rescuing a strange woman, his fate began to change.
A dignified matriarch with a captivating charm,
a reserved and aloof principal of a girls' school run by a church,
a worldly socialite from the southern city,
a sharp-witted, spirited newspaper reporter,
a commander's elegant concubine,
a coolly beautiful and lively female agent...
Old memories and new encounters intertwine as the tumult of troubled times swirls around them.
One secret conspiracy after another, hidden in the shadows, is slowly stirring beneath Beiping's moonlit alleyways.
