Reborn: The Antiques Tycoon’s Laid-Back Life

Modern rebirth + antique collecting and farming + supernatural golden finger + family drama + light adventure + unconventional wish-fulfillment

Yang Ping is a contract worker at a state-owned enterprise, henpecked by his wife and worn down by life until he's ready to retire early. His biggest dreams are to buy a Suzuki GW250 and ride it to Tibet, treat his wife and son to a good meal without checking the prices, and get his parents a home without stairs.

While he was taking a sip of cola, his computer sparked, and he returned to four years earlier: April 8, 2010.

A dark red burn mark appeared in the palm of his right hand, and his snuff bottle and olive pits seemed to fuse into his flesh. A piece of ugly gray stone, and with a shake, it turns into lustrous white jade. A damaged sheet of four rare Monkey stamps, and with a shake, it becomes a pristine, complete set of collectible stamps.

The price is cold sweats all over, a tearing sensation in his internal organs, and a right hand that's nearly ruined.

Yang Ping decides: if he can lie down, he absolutely won't stand up; if he can solve something with a sharp tongue, he absolutely won't use his fists; if he can coast to victory, he absolutely won't show off. He makes money to retire, not to save the world.

And so a legend spreads through the antique collecting world: “Nothing this guy owns is junk. Every piece is top-notch, but he's as lazy as a salted fish.”
