I Called Off the Engagement in the 1980s, Then Married a Commander

On her wedding day, her fiancé puts an arm around her cousin, Liu Xiaoxiao, and calls off the engagement in front of everyone. “Wanwan, you’re good for nothing but your looks.”

I tear off my wedding dress and toss out two files. “Then who do you think this admission letter from Jinghua University was meant for?”

The whole room erupts. Liu Xiaoxiao turns white as a sheet. She stole that letter from me years ago.

The commander suddenly rises and drops to one knee before hundreds of guests. “I’ll go along with a fake marriage. But whether it becomes real is up to you.”

I take his hand and smile at the scumbag. “Thank you for helping me see who’s human and who’s a monster.”

You stole everything from me. I’ll take it all back with my own hands.
