The play tells the story of two cities, Muxi and Xuanyue, who have been at odds with each other for generations and are trying to annex each other. The old city lord of Muxi City only had one daughter, Ye Zhaonan. The old city lord secretly hid his daughter's gender and ordered Zhaonan to dress up as a man since childhood. Even after he succeeded the city lord, he always presented himself as a man. In an accident, Ye Zhaonan fell off a cliff, and by mistake, he met Liu Xuanming, the lord of Xuanyue City, and began a story of wonderful destiny.
