Cursed Harbor has an important festival called the Invitation of the Gods.
For the evil, chaotic outcasts and criminals who dwell there, the festival is their only chance at redemption: become disciples of a god and leave this godforsaken place.
On the day of the festival, Ji Shuo slaughters his way through Cursed Harbor, killing every last member of the other races.
After the gods descend, one of them asks him, “Why did you do this?”
Ji Shuo smiles. “One of those creatures just asked me the same thing. He died.”
No calamity could imagine that the lowest-ranking calamity in the world would spend a century plotting to kill a god. Nor could any god imagine that a cursed race would welcome their king a hundred years later, a king who would slay every god under heaven just to demand justice.
If there is no place for me in this world, then I will forge one myself.
If my faith is to be destroyed and shattered by this foreign world, then I will sacrifice myself for the cause. I will make the gods who sit high above us fall. I will free the calamities, bring equality to all beings, and claim the justice the gods will not grant, but the devil will hear.
The devil forgave my greed.
I am willing to make an eternal bargain with him.
