The Yin Gate Wanderer of the Mortal World

After twenty years studying under a master deep in the mountains, Zhang Chujiu comes down at his grandfather’s instruction to make a living. His travel money runs out, so he settles for buying a supposedly haunted house in a residential complex at a bargain price. Everyone else gives it a wide berth. A self-proclaimed expert in the field insists a murderous, red-clad ghost haunts the house and demands a hundred thousand to perform a ritual and suppress it. With nothing but aged glutinous rice, Zhang stabilizes the house’s icy gloom, then produces the dead woman’s hair tie, sealed away for ten years, and exposes the fraud in front of everyone. The young woman who died unjustly in the house has no vicious intent toward the living. She has been trapped there for ten years by an unresolved obsession. All he wanted was to open a shop, read feng shui, help restless souls move on, and resolve one strange folk mystery after another. But an ordinary old case of lovers dying together conceals a sinister symbol, and a mysterious power lies behind the con artists. Watch the last yin-gate practitioner of the Zhang family wield a cypress tablet and ring a soul-calming bell as he walks the boundary between yin and yang in the bustling streets, foils evil schemes, releases the obsessions of the living and dead, and upholds justice in the human world. He makes his home in a haunted house and earns his keep driving out evil. Once he gets caught up in the undercurrents, watch him sweep aside all manner of fake exorcists and clear away layer upon layer of gloom!
