Ling Jiushi accidentally transmigrates into a strange game world called the Spirit Realm, where he is chased by a giant wolf from the start. He escapes with guidance from the mysterious Ruan Lanzhu. The two team up and enter Snow Village, facing deadly challenges from door gods and ghosts alongside several other players. As they progress through the mission, they gradually uncover the village's dark past: the villagers sacrificed a seven-year-old girl named Xiao Jiu to stop the wolf attacks, and her resentment turned her into the female ghost at the bottom of the well.
With Ruan Lanzhu and Ling Jiushi's help, everyone awakens the female ghost's humanity and restores her right to choose. In the end, they obtain the key and escape the instance.
Back in the real world, Ling Jiushi returns to his ordinary life, only for Ruan Lanzhu to show up in person. An even greater mystery is about to unfold.
