Transmigrating to the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms with a Mount & Blade II System

In the ninth year of Tianfu under the Later Jin, a massive Khitan invasion swept south, and prefectures and counties across Hebei fell one after another. The defeated soldiers turned to banditry, burning, killing, and looting wherever they went. For a thousand miles, not a soul remained.

When Lin Yan awoke, he was in a rural woodshed on the outskirts of Xiangzhou. Outside, the insults of marauding soldiers mingled with screams, and the wooden door shook under their kicks. The only thing beside him was a heavy splitting axe.

At the brink of life and death, the Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord System he had spent two thousand hours mastering merged with his consciousness. The attributes panel, troop training, fief development, formation tactics, and other game mechanics were second nature to him, becoming his means of survival in a lawless age.

With one swing of the axe in the woodshed, he seized his first ring-pommel saber. Deep in the mountains, he built a stronghold and trained his first batch of infantry.

He drove off bandits, routed the estate guards, and ambushed Khitan cavalry. He reclaimed wasteland, drilled his soldiers, and gave shelter to refugees.

In the chaotic Five Dynasties, when warriors ran rampant and human lives were worth less than grass, he started out as an obscure refugee and gradually assembled a force willing to fight.

As iron cavalry trampled the Central Plains, cold steel carved a path to peace.

When flames of war spread across the land, he would use the blade in his hand and the soldiers under his command to end decades of conflict.
