The protagonist, Lin Yuanshan, was originally a metallurgical engineer in the 21st century. He traveled to Anshan in the 1960s and became an apprentice in a steel factory. He found that his mind was connected to a "Future Military Factory" system that could directly smelt scrap iron into high-strength special steel, and even exchange it for future military blueprints. The only restriction is that points and recipes must be obtained by completing "key tasks" issued by the system, and these tasks are often accompanied by huge risks.
