Genshin Impact: The Ashes’ Road Home

Lumine wakes up on a beach in Mondstadt.

Her backpack is there, her canteen is seven-tenths full, and her food pouch is empty. She has no memories, no elemental power, and no sense of direction. She has only a name and someone she needs to find.

When she walks into Mondstadt, she thinks it is a city of freedom.

Free enough to make people forget what holds them up. The conversations on the streets, everyday commissions, and unapologetic demands all extend the same logic: if you're here, you should help.

She meets Paimon, a guide who got hooked while fishing. She meets Jin, who always stands at the edge of things, yet seems to know everything. She meets Venti, the Anemo Archon who tells her, “The destination isn't everything.”

Together, they deal with an apparition formed from gathered emotions. Together, they lay to rest the consciousness left behind in an underground facility. Together, they watch the people of Mondstadt kneel and then rise again in the Anemo Archon's presence.

Then they head south.
