Synopsis

In this parallel universe, can the Han dynasty be restored?

Many years later, those who once held weapons on the battlefield would lower their eyes to their hands whenever they remembered how it all began.

Those hands had once been nothing at all. Clenched, their five fingers looked like a curled-up bird; open, they looked like a flower that had yet to decide whether to bloom. The ancients of a bygone age stood in the wilderness and gazed at the sky. The sky said nothing. They knelt to seek an oracle, and the tortoise shell cracked, but its fissures held no answers. Then someone looked down at their palm. There was nothing there: no lines etched by Heaven's mandate, no marks scorched by divine revelation, only five fingers.

Those five fingers first touched not a sword, but an ear of wheat. Heavy grains slipped between them like golden rain. Then came fruit, the cheek of a beauty, the forehead of a baby, the slick gleam of scales on a fish just pulled from the river. The fingers remembered the warmth of everything they touched.

Then one day, those five fingers closed around a sword hilt.

The iron was cold, but the palm was warm.

In that instant, the warmth of the palm traveled along the hilt to the sword's tip. The tip trembled in the wind. A man looked up at the sky. It still said nothing, but his fingers tightened.

From then on, Heaven was no longer the sole master of the world!!!

Looking for High-Quality Historical Fiction. No Mindless Power Trips or Brain-Dead Plotting

I want high-quality historical fiction that’s engaging and doesn’t dumb things down or rely on brainless plots. It can be satisfying, but don’t treat readers like idiots. No stories like the one where the protagonist fools Cao Cao’s quartermaster about the provisions from the start, or those where a literati protagonist suddenly has the strength of a tyrant. They’re unoriginal and mindless...

High-Quality Three Kingdoms Novels

A transmigration story, the identity doesn't matter as long as it's high-status, but not the emperor. The protagonist should know history well and anticipate the enemy's moves, but shouldn't become a ruler. Don't deliberately denigrate certain historical figures or invent contrived schemes within schemes just to make the protagonist look clever. Nothing too short or weak, and it shouldn't lose steam halfway through. Around a million words.
