Synopsis

My name is Lu Yao.

I transmigrated into the world of Journey to the West, hoping to cultivate immortality in peace.

But I discovered that the immortal stone I'd been looking after was actually nurturing the future Great Sage Equal to Heaven, Sun Wukong!

The Buddhist Sect wanted to use the monkey to obtain the scriptures.

The Heavenly Court wanted to use him to carry out its schemes.

Everyone was waiting for the stone monkey to be born.

So I did something about it:

I made the stone monkey die before his time.

[Ding! You have changed the fate of Journey to the West. Reward: Nine-Turn Heavenly Art!]

In that moment:

Tathagata fell silent.

Bodhi was stunned.

The Heavenly Court panicked.

The Buddhist Sect realized that an unaccountable variable had appeared in the great calamity of Journey to the West they had so carefully arranged.

They just didn't know that this variable…

was merely a young Earth Immortal who had only just entered the immortal sect.

And I, Lu Yao, would rewrite Journey to the West!

Are There Any Journey to the West Novels Without Conspiracy Theories, Just a Normal Pilgrimage to the Western Heaven?

I'm looking for novels about traveling west the whole way, without going off on tangents like killing Tang Sanzang or the Tathagata.

I Want Pure Journey to the West, Not Primordial Chaos

Are there any straightforward Journey to the West stories? I want mythology, not a sequel to the Primordial World. Ideally, the protagonist should be original, and Tang Sanzang should be decisive and ruthless, cultivating his own Buddhism rather than becoming one of those bald Western monks.
