Starting in Kowloon Walled City! The Last of the Underworld!!

Jiulong Chengzhai, a gray zone of thirty thousand square meters crammed with fifty thousand people. One winter night in 1984, fifteen-year-old A Zu lost his father in an instant. Blind Zhong was shot dead three times in the cold storage room at the seafood market for refusing to let the Dongxing gang pass through. All A Zu had left was a hand-drawn map, a brass button torn from the killer, a younger brother with a limp, and a brother he had taken in.

In this city with no laws, only rules, A Zu starts out as a delivery boy and turns homeless children into a web of messengers. He carefully picks his way between the Elders’ Association, the gangs, and the police. He doesn’t want to fight for territory. He only wants to hold on to the three words his father left him: You are the big brother. But when the shadow of Dongxing falls over the walled city once again, he must choose: keep surviving in the shadows, or step forward and become the blade in someone else’s hand.
