Everyone Mutated: From the Start, I Became Taowu

Han Haozhe died, then came back to life.

When he opened his eyes, his throat still throbbed with the pain of being torn apart by a catman, but somehow he could breathe just fine. The body of a twelve-year-old boy was curled up inside a drafty wooden shack, while the roars of beasts came from beyond the door.

“Ding! Host successfully bound to the ‘Learn from the Barbarians to Defeat the Barbarians’ System. This System is dedicated to restoring the glory of pure-blooded humanity. Its functions include, but are not limited to, Ben 10, except you don't transform into an alien hero, but into Qiongqi, the ferocious beast from the Classic of Mountains and Seas.”

Han Haozhe: “So, right now I...?”

“Right now, you're so weak you can't even beat a mutated chicken, so here's your beginner's gift pack: Qiongqi Transformation Trial Card (one use). Mission: Go to District Thirteen to enroll in the Junior Soldier Academy.”

“I thought the System was supposed to help me turn my life around?”

“Help you turn your life around? That's a power fantasy. This System's specialty is making you dance through despair.”
