After an unannounced flash of white light, Huaishan Road Station was forced to close, and the surface stopped responding.
The wind died down, the power went out, and only a few broken fragments remained of the rescue broadcasts. Zhou Jiming, Gu Wenqiu, and four other people who had never known one another were pushed into roles overseeing equipment, medical care, security, supplies, and records.
The darkness was only the beginning. Who gets water first? Who can receive medicine? Should the people outside the door still be rescued? When the evidence is incomplete, who has the right to issue orders on everyone’s behalf? Someone will have to bear the consequences of every answer.
When the survivors finally leave the station, new settlements, old recordings, and war documents begin to surface one after another. They must choose between survival, the truth, and shared rules. They must also let those who come later question whom these choices harmed.
They must live to see tomorrow, and make sure the people of tomorrow know what happened today.
