Livestreaming the War of Resistance: One Hundred Thousand Sign Up

Every transmigrator wants to rewrite history. Lu Chen only wants to save one more person. He can't deploy troops or devise strategies. The only thing he's good at is dragging survivors out of the rubble.

1937, outside Nanjing. Lu Chen uses a fire hose to secure an anchor point on a broken bridge. Below him, refugees cry out as gunfire closes in. The company commander asks who he is. He replies with just one sentence: "Give me that abandoned warehouse, and three days. I'll get the refugees there." The commander doesn't believe him, until he sees Lu Chen carry a pregnant woman through the line of fire, sort the wounded into four categories by severity, and organize an evacuation route in three minutes.

One hundred thousand people are watching in the livestream. Some record the video, some check maps, and some sit silently for a long time before clicking "Sign Up." Retired soldiers, delivery riders, emergency nurses, bridge engineers: they transmigrate to 1937 with no miraculous weapons, carrying only a backpack weighing no more than twenty-five kilograms. The first volunteer to die in battle returns to the present and sits in the hallway of his own apartment building all night without going inside. The next day, he signs up again.

Su Wanqing hands Lu Chen the list of wounded. "You can't save everyone." Lu Chen takes the list. "But I can teach more people how to save lives."
