Corpse Brother: St. Freya Is Open for Business

My name is Himeko Murata. I am twenty-nine years old.

I live on the third floor of an apartment building in H City. I am unmarried.

I used to be a Valkyrie and a teacher at St. Freya Academy. Now I own a bar called St. Freya.

I get up at seven every morning, drink a cup of black coffee, then go open the bar.

I drink a lot. It's a job requirement. I rarely smoke, and only a little.

The bar closes at irregular hours. Before bed, I take an injection of suppressants and do twenty minutes of stretching. It's not for my health; without the injection, my body would fall apart. I sleep through the night and never let the pain of erosion carry over to the next day.

The young man next door talks a lot. He's a nice guy, just noisy.

A mask calling itself Aha says I'm interesting. I don't know what's so interesting about me. I just want to quietly run a bar.

Then, a year later, two uninvited guests dropped a coffin into the reservoir.

The entire city began eating people.
