My name is Shen Chang’an, and I restore ancient books.
It wasn’t until twenty years after my grandfather disappeared that I opened The Arcane Secrets of the Mortal World.
A vacant house traps wealth, a chessboard claims lives, a yin site exchanges one life for another... It turns out there really are “plots” in this world.
Zhou Zheng bought a villa and lost eighty million in three months. His wife divorced him, and his son ended up in the ICU. I took a look around and found a Nine Palaces grid hidden beneath the floor. Someone was using the entire house to “trap” him.
The police say I’m superstitious, but I can solve the missing-person cases they can’t crack and enter the haunted houses they can’t get into.
My grandfather spent twenty years laying a plot to imprison a man named Gu Yunshan.
Now the plot has been broken, and that man has awakened.
The first people he’s coming for are the descendants of the Shen family.
This book is both the talisman my grandfather left me to save my life and the sign of my impending death.
Because everyone who understands this book gets drawn into the plot.
There are strange things hidden in the market, and one game can ruin the world. I found a treasure novel!
