After being reborn from a shipwreck, Zhu Shiyue transmigrates to a demon realm in another world and becomes a frail little tabby cat!
The useless System Baobao comes online and accidentally binds her to Fu Jiu, a lingering soul with only a few months left to live. Their lives are now connected, forcing them to coexist.
To stay alive, she steals shapeshifting grass to regain human form, then impersonates Su Ling, a powerful figure from the Northern Territory, and bluffs her way through life.
She fools the city lord, swindles the treasury, and thrives by cheating and tricking her way along, only to stumble into a massive con and have the real Su Ling show up at her door! What she thought was a dead end unexpectedly leads to her becoming close friends with Su Ling.
She gathers the Eight Generals of the Thousand Gates, brings the three great clans to heel, and pacifies the Northern Territory's seventy-two cities. After struggling her way up, she becomes the “King of the Northern Territory,” appointed by the Regent himself.
But in the Rakshasa Demon Kingdom, the hierarchy is rigid, and the lives of commoners are worth less than grass. Together with Fu Jiu, the lingering soul, Jinzi the goofy tiger, Lian Ji the fox demon, and her dear friend Su Ling, Zhu Shiyue stirs up a storm across the Northern Territory. She fights the rotten caste system and contends with the Regent at every turn. In this chaotic age, she will carve out a future where all races are equal!
