“At 11:59 p.m., do not, under any circumstances, fall into a deep sleep.”
A world of bizarre rules descends, and a deadly “hypersomnia” outbreak sweeps the globe. If a monster eats you in a dream, you’ll become a shriveled corpse in reality.
The official special organization, the Sleep Prison Bureau, comes knocking. Seeing that all of Zhao Jun’s test results are zero, they assume he’s an ordinary, defenseless man and try to keep him as a “vessel” for harvesting resources.
But when midnight arrives and the Sleep Prison Bureau breaks down his door, they find Zhao Jun sitting in a chair, a severed finger hacked from a dream monster gripped in his left hand and a manganese-steel hatchet slick with black blood in his right.
“You think you’re the hunters?”
Zhao Jun knocks on the wooden table, forcibly triggering the rules.
Faced with indescribable, horrifying mutants, everyone else desperately struggles to survive while Zhao Jun exploits loopholes in the monsters’ rules.
The Knocking Ghost forces people to sign for deliveries? I’ve got a stiff neck and can’t lift my head. I’ll sign in blood. Now get lost.
The head nurse hates noise? I’ll smash the magnesium powder and blind the monster, then use its own weapon against it.
When the authorities arrogantly declare that he’s just a test subject, Zhao Jun crushes their skulls beneath his feet.
“Sorry, your rules don’t apply to me.”
