Boundary Surveyor

Lu Yan is an ordinary technician in an ordinary surveying and mapping unit in Jincheng. His job is to detect underground pipe networks - using instruments to scan the world below the ground and record the direction and depth of every pipe and cable. Boring, but stable. On the forty-seventh day of his employment, he discovered something that could not be explained by instruments fifteen meters deep underground in the old city. Not a pipeline. It's not a geological anomaly. It is a "missing" - the space itself there is missing a piece. From that day on, he began to see another side of the city beneath the ground: tens of thousands of anchor points embedded in the ground like nails, nailing something he didn't understand. His colleagues seemed to have known about the existence of these anchors, but no one told him what they were anchored to. Until he found a piece of data that he shouldn't have checked - the layout of those anchor points didn't seem to be stabilizing anything. It's like blocking something.
