This book will kill.
I knew it the first day I walked in - every time I tried to deviate from the plot, my body would be taken over.
The second male lead, Fu Sinian, handed over breakfast. The black badge in his pocket said "Administration".
He said he was here to clear out illegal crossers.
But after he finished speaking, he put away his badge: "After you came, this book started to go crazy."
The plot line is contradictory, the NPC's memory is confused, and the pages of the book turn by themselves late at night.
We searched for three months and finally found a woman's voice in the underlying code of the book.
She calls herself the author.
She said she was trapped by the story she wrote and couldn't get out.
"This system—" her voice began to break, "is tampering with every chapter. It won't let me go. It wants to lock me in words forever."
When we open the book's data backend, a line of red text warning pops up:
"External intrusion detected. Ending self-destruct program initiated. Countdown: 72:00:00."
There is another line of small words on the screen, as if someone secretly wrote:
"Don't trust the system. Trust me. I am the real author. - Lin Zhiyi."
The book was still open on the table.
Last page. Blank. Waiting to be written on.
But there was a sticky note on it, and the handwriting was different from everyone else's:
"Last question. Are you sure the ending you want to see is your own choice, or is it something I wrote for you?"
