Sweet Sugar Kisses

While sticking up for her best friend, Ran Nian grabbed a wooden club and went after the cheating scumbag who had wronged her. In the dim light, she struck fast and hard. Only after giving him a thorough beating did she realize she had hit the wrong person. The man she had shoved into a sack and beaten up was not the scumbag. He was Si Yao, the new principal who had just parachuted in. Later, a coworker quietly gossiped, “Isn’t Principal Si treating you kind of specially?” Ran Nian answered calmly, “No. We’re not close.” Some time later, her older brother called and casually mentioned his best friend. Ran Nian: “...I know him. We’re just not that close.” She deliberately skipped over the fiasco that night, never once mentioning how she had cornered and beaten the heir to a corporate empire in the dark. She also had no idea that Si Yao had been her brother’s close friend for many years.
