In the steampunk mechanical city of “Fog City,” Xiao Ran, a young man from the slums, is a top player in the fully immersive virtual reality game Age of the Gods. With his venomous-snake precision sniping and thorough understanding of the game’s mechanics, he has never lost in the arena. But his close friend and teammate Lin Yu, a talented nobleman consumed by jealousy and a “cheater,” uses his family’s high-tech resources on the eve of a major tournament to steal Xiao Ran’s combat data. He also sets him up in the real world, ruining his reputation, getting him expelled from the professional league, and reducing him to a lowly “Gray Street scavenger.”
In an abandoned steam factory, Xiao Ran accidentally activates a mysterious “Divine Relic” from the old era: the [Time-Space Gear]. This golden finger lets him enter an “overclocked thought” state, synchronize his real-world movements with his in-game actions, replicate any skill he has ever seen, and rewind time three times to adjust his tactics.
Climbing out of the trash heaps of Gray Street, Xiao Ran puts on his steam goggles and reconnects to Age of the Gods. In the virtual world, he will use the “snake’s” skills to drag the cheater from his pedestal. In the steampunk real world, he will also stage a cross-world revenge with sheer strength and cunning.
