The Path of God-Eating

In an age when mythology has returned, Chen Mo is delivering takeout from a low-rent apartment when a crack opens in his kitchen and he stumbles into the Kitchen God’s Divine Domain. He swallows his first wisp of incense and the remnant soul of the Kitchen God, awakening an ability to devour divine offices and read divine natures. Starting as the lowliest kitchen god, he devours his way upward amid a divine war over the incense of humankind, fought between the Eastern Heavenly Court’s “official appointment” system and the Western gods’ “divine lineage” system. From the stove in his low-rent apartment, he devours his way to the very heart of the fated twilight of the gods.
