Building a Life in Another World: I Become the City Lord of a Cursed Land

[Apocalyptic Disaster + Management + System + Infrastructure + Fictional Ancient Setting + No Romance]

A note up front: The tags were automatically set to historical romance. I’ll try to fix them later, but the protagonist in this story doesn’t date. She only builds infrastructure.

Lin Shichan had a house, a car, and savings. She was halfway through planning her travels when some unknown System bound her to Disaster Star 08.

This world is in the fifth year of an epidemic. Humanity’s numbers have plummeted, the planet lies in ruins, and all plants and animals have mutated.

System: Please name your city.

Lin Shichan thought for a moment, then typed: Xihe City.

The next second, building after building rose from the ruins, and a city was built in the blink of an eye.

When disaster refugees stagger into Xihe City, they think they’ve found a paradise on earth.

Food, lodging, and all necessities are provided, and there’s no limit on food.

With a permanent resident card, they can buy a plot of land, choose a house design, and build a home however they like.

The once-terrifying mutated plants and animals instantly become walking money in the eyes of Xihe City’s residents.

Lin Shichan works day and night, renovating, upgrading, opening shops, building roads, and testing mutated plants and animals.

As the food grows more abundant, the shops more varied, and the lights at night brighter, the people on Disaster Star feel, for the first time, that the future holds hope.

In the people’s hearts, she is the equal of a god.

In Lin Shichan’s eyes: Don’t rush. I’m about to build the next structure.

Xihe City is a city in every sense of the word. It brings order to a chaotic age, the warmth of everyday life to a desperate world, and a tomorrow no one had dared to hope for.
