[Matriarchal society + transmigration + imperial exams + redemption from a bad reputation + marriage before love + male pregnancy + one-on-one romance]
Su Zhiyan, a history PhD, drops dead while working on her dissertation. When she opens her eyes, she has become the notorious spendthrift of Dazhao.
Her mother has thrown her out, and her former husband divorced her after she beat him. As she frets over an empty rice jar, a matchmaker arrives with a trembling man.
“Madam Su, the husband you bought for twelve taels has arrived.”
If Li Panmei is sent back, he’ll be sold into a pleasure house before long. He kneels in the snow and begs her to keep him.
There’s no System, no pocket dimension, and no ready-made answers for the imperial exams.
All she can rely on is the tenacity she developed over five years of doctoral study, along with the little she knows about institutions, knowledge her era has yet to recognize.
She pays off debts, copies books to buy medicine, studies the classics again, and starts with the county exams, taking one step at a time toward the imperial court. Everyone is waiting for her to gamble again, give up on the exams again, or hurt the people around her again. But this time, Su Zhiyan won’t repeat her mistakes. She’ll reclaim, little by little, everything the original owner ruined.
She doesn’t expect anyone to forgive her right away. She only hopes that one day, when people hear the name Su Zhiyan, they’ll think not of a spendthrift, but of… Magistrate Su.
It's nice to read, and the characters are pretty well created. I didn't expect the heroine to be the same as a man like other female novels. So far, I haven't seen any description of the interchange of male and female physiological structures. I like it very much. When will the author continue to update it? It's not enough [crying] [crying] [crying]
It's pretty good-looking, but I'm a glass-hearted person. After seeing Chen Sanlang's death, I've been upset. It's even more sad to think that this will happen in history.
