[Two female leads] Cool, rational director × dazzling top supermodel | Master of the camera × the only person who makes her lose control
On her first day on a dating show, Shi Yu set her sights on Director Jiang, who was rumored to be cold-blooded and merciless, and never to stop for anyone.
She arranged chance encounters, timed her late-night likes, and flirted with her through notes, just enough to keep things ambiguous. The whole internet thought she was trying to ride the movie star's coattails, waiting for Jiang Xuyue to blacklist her herself.
Only Jiang Xuyue knew that every move this woman made was aimed at her.
At two in the morning, the director who was always composed and self-controlled finally lost control for the first time. She pinned Shi Yu against the door, thrusting a fitness band displaying a heart rate of 132 in front of her. Her voice was hoarse:
“The data is real.”
“Shi Yu, how long are you going to keep pretending?”
The internet exploded! #DirectorLosesControlHeartRate shot to the top of the trending topics.
Haters cursed Shi Yu as a “schemer climbing her way to the top,” never knowing that the director who was always so composed and self-controlled had a locked folder in her study, never before made public, filled with shots of the same person's back.
Five years ago, when they parted, neither dared ask the other, “Are you doing okay?”
Five years later, at Milan Fashion Week, Shi Yu walked down the runway in a pure white wedding dress. In the full glare of the crowd, she pulled off her veil. It wasn't a spur-of-the-moment gesture. It was a demand for an answer.
Looking past the spotlights at the woman in the front row, touching the beauty mark at the corner of her eye, she spoke each word clearly:
“Director Jiang, the footage you've kept in your monitors for five years...”
“Is it really my shots you want, or me?”
Jiang Xuyue sat in the front row, her fingers hovering beside her beauty mark, trembling uncontrollably.
She had waited for her.
This time, the cameras would stop rolling, but she wouldn't let go again.
