Uesugi Chika was born with two opposing kinds of cursed energy, and her life was as fragile as a candle in the wind.

In search of a chance to survive, she entered Tokyo Jujutsu High, only to reunite with her childhood nemesis: the arrogant Satoru Gojo.

At their first meeting, she earned him a three-thousand-word disciplinary report.

On missions, she competed with him to kill cursed spirits.

She thought they would go on bickering like that forever, until

She saw him die with her own eyes.

The white-haired boy lay in a pool of blood, utterly still.

Suguru Geto sighed softly. “You know, acting like this won’t make Chika like you.”

There was a brief silence on the other end of the phone.

Then Satoru Gojo’s voice burst back, flustered and protesting like someone had stepped on his tail. “Huh?! No way! She messaged me and said she had something to tell me when she got back, ” He paused, and his blustering confidence suddenly swelled by three whole notches. “She’s definitely, definitely going to confess to me!”

Suguru Geto made a sound of surprise. “You’re so hopeless you’re making a girl confess first?”
