That year, late autumn, in a tiered lecture hall at S University's School of Business.
Outside the window, the ginkgo trees blazed gold, and fallen leaves blanketed the stone path.
With an armful of economics textbooks, Lin Zhiyi hurriedly pushed open the back door of the lecture hall. She was fifteen minutes late. The professor was discussing game theory at the podium, and she bent low, hoping to slip into the last row.
"Student."
A low voice came from beside her.
She looked up sharply and met a pair of eyes so deep she couldn't see the bottom.
The young man sat by the window, wearing a black turtleneck. His features were sharply defined, and his manner was cool and aloof. He shifted slightly to make room: the empty seat beside him.
Lin Zhiyi hesitated, murmured, "Thank you," and hurriedly sat down.
She didn't know that as she bent her head to take notes, the young man beside her watched her for the entire class.
Nor did she know that from that day on, she would become someone's obsession for the next eight years.
