On a Stormy Night, the Rough-Hewn Man and I Clung to Each Other for Survival in a Cave Dwelling

[1970s setting + medical space + sent-down tough guy + sweet romance and mutual flirting + comeback from desperate straits]

Qiao Qi transmigrates into the body of a barefoot doctor in the poorest village in the great northwest during the 1970s. Dirt poor, she has only two things on her mind: earning work points and saving money.

One day, Gu Hanzhou, a taciturn, rugged man, is sent down to the village.

Tall and long-legged, he has a gaze as cold as a wolf’s and an imposing air that warns everyone to keep their distance.

Qiao Qi is afraid to cross him, until a sudden mudslide traps them in a dilapidated cave halfway up the mountain.

The road collapses, cutting off all supplies.

Gu Hanzhou falls gravely ill with a high fever. To keep her only “big client” around and earn his medical fees, Qiao Qi has no choice but to care for him closely, even huddling with him under a worn sheepskin blanket on a freezing night to keep warm.

She assumes that once they make it down the mountain, they’ll go their separate ways.

Who could have guessed that this wolf cub would clear his name, reclaim his status as the crown prince of the capital’s elite, and then show up with a cartload of betrothal gifts, blocking the entrance to her clinic?

“Doctor Qiao, you saved my life, and I promised myself to you. Are you going back on the deal?”
