Great Ming: I Just Want Milk, but Old Zhu Wants Me to Ascend the Throne

Zhu Yuntong is born into the Ming Dynasty as the emperor's second grandson, soon to be born.

Well versed in history, he knows his mother will die in childbirth, his father will die young, and Zhu Yunwen's future attempt to curb the power of the princes will spark the Jingnan Campaign, leaving him imprisoned until his death.

To stay alive, he decides to lie flat as a baby and stay completely out of the succession struggle.

But to his utter surprise, the Zhu family can hear his thoughts!

“Mother, the imperial physicians have been bribed by Lady Lü. If you start hemorrhaging, find a doctor from outside the palace!”

Chang Shi sweeps the medicine bowl aside, investigates the physicians, and saves both herself and her baby!

“Father, you're about to inspect Shaanxi. You'll catch a chill and die, and the Great Ming will be doomed!”

Zhu Biao breaks into a cold sweat, immediately starts working out, and casually executes a few corrupt officials to calm his nerves.

“Grandfather, you were too ruthless in killing meritorious officials. That kid Zhu Yunwen will make you pay for it!”

Zhu Yuanzhang flies into a rage, kicks Zhu Yunwen away, and roars as he cradles the swaddled Zhu Yuntong: “The Great Ming throne belongs to my precious grandson!”

More than a decade later, gazing at a Great Ming receiving tribute from every nation, Zhu Yuntong blows a milk bubble. “I only wanted to lie flat. How did I become an emperor for the ages?”
