[Age gap + both first-timers + sweet romance + reunion after years apart + secret crush + older-brother type boyfriend]
A would-be aloof star student in economic crime investigation x a scheming, shameless CEO
*
Lu Ran is a third-year student at a police academy, majoring in economic crime investigation.
At a birthday banquet, she sees her first love acting like a lovesick puppy for his goddess, the girl he’s always had a crush on.
She turns and leaves with a carefree stride, only to run into her ex’s cousin, Mr. Gu. He, too, has just been stood up on a blind date by that same goddess.
He doesn’t seem bothered at all. Instead, he asks her, “Why didn’t you go in there and throw him over your shoulder? Why spare him the embarrassment?”

Gu Beixi wears gold-rimmed glasses and has the face of a high-IQ financial-crime mastermind.
From the moment they met, he pursued her boldly and directly.
Later, she discovers he’s the big brother Xiaobei from next door: clever, calculating, and unbelievably flirtatious.

When they first met,
Gu Beixi said, “The old man is getting on in years and wants to see us settle down. We might as well choose someone we like.”
She refused coolly. “I haven’t graduated yet. I haven’t thought about any of that.”
His voice was gentle, but his confidence left no room for refusal. “You have a year. Take your time to think about it.”
A year later,
Lu Ran walks out of the Public Security Bureau in her new police uniform. Gu Beixi is there to pick her up after work. “Miss Police Officer, you look beautiful in uniform.”
Unable to keep up her serious expression, she breaks into a radiant smile and runs to him. “Mr. CEO, let’s go home.”
The years stretch on. Her dark-blue uniform and his deep affection will never let each other down.

TIPS:
1. Both leads have only ever been with each other. The heroine only pretends to be aloof; the hero is genuinely devious.
2. A pure-sugar sweet romance, with very little crime-solving.
3. Not a traditional CEO romance. It focuses on everyday urban romance, starts with their reunion, and includes some flashbacks.
