The One Who Loves Me Most Isn't Her

He searched for eleven years for a woman with a purple maple-leaf birthmark on her back.

In his dreams, she took a fatal knife strike for him. Her last words were: “In your next life, don't be a bad person. Become a police officer.”

So he became a police officer. The kind who must never let his identity slip: an undercover cop.

He met two women, both with purple maple-leaf birthmarks on their backs.

One arrested him three times. Each time she drew closer, the scenes in his dreams grew clearer. He thought she was the woman from his dreams.

The other had the same birthmark. She gave up everything for him and loved him with all her heart. He didn't dare turn around and look at her.

Only later did he discover that the birthmark was fake.

But so what if it was fake? Her love was real.

And the woman with the real birthmark had taken a knife for him, and risked her life for him. She was a debt of gratitude he had to repay in this lifetime.

Two women with birthmarks.

One was owed his life, the other his heart.

Who was the person he loved most in his past life? And who should he love in this one?

He thought he could recognize her by her birthmark. But when he finally understood, he realized that the person who loved him most, the one who most wanted him to love her, was right there on the page he'd been drawing for eleven years.

He had simply mistaken one person for another.

The woman who loves me most isn't her.

But when the whole truth comes out, will there still be time?
